I am directed by the Board of Trade to transmit to

you herewith copy of correspondence which has passed between

the Ministry of Munitions of War and this Department re-

specting the re-export of pig lead from Hong Kong to China

and to state that, subject to Mr.Secretary Bonar Law's

concurrence, the Board propose to give effect to the recom-

mendation of the Ministry by prohibiting the exportation to

all destinations of "lead, pig, sheet, pipe or scrap (in-

cluding solder containing lead)".

The Board would be glad to be favoured with the views

of your Department on the subject.
